Despite all of the mentioned draws to this region it still manages not to attract a large amount of tourists. The pronunciation of the name of the city is ( Kur-gi-stan) it is no wonder people often mispronounce it! This region is known as geographically isolated with Russia being its main influence.

As in most countries with underdeveloped infrastructure this region struggles to gain tourist activity. It also has poor air links. Although a nice drawing point for this region is the lack of visitation and tourism which generally makes for a laid back and peaceful location. This region is filled with mountains and beautiful lakes. Trekking up summits is a popular activity in the region and you can even find areas that resemble Switzerland or the middle east. It is also important to note that there are a few beaches here and the water can be very cold. In addition to the vast and beautiful landscapes one can experience an interaction with the semi-nomadic shepherds of the region who manage to lead a more traditional way of life away from the noisy crowds of a bustling city. All in all this is a beautiful country that is worth experiencing.
